ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to train healthcare workers who care for pilgrims during the Hajj season, focusing on infection control—how to prevent the spread of germs and keep everyone safe. Instead of usual classroom lessons, this study wants to see if using virtual reality (VR)—a computer-made, 3D environment that feels like real life—can better improve healthcare workers’ knowledge, confidence, and readiness to handle infections. The trial will compare this VR training to traditional lecture-style teaching to find out which method works best.
Healthcare workers who are 20 years or older, licensed (like nurses, doctors, or emergency medical technicians), and assigned to work during Hajj in Saudi Arabia may be eligible to join. They should be able to understand Arabic or English and able to give consent to take part. The trial won’t include people who have epilepsy, motion sickness triggered by VR, or severe vision or thinking problems. Participants will experience the VR training and their learning and preparedness will be measured and compared to those who receive the usual training. This study aims to help make infection control training more effective, which is especially important in large gatherings like the Hajj where many people come together.
