ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to treat a type of stroke called acute ischemic stroke, which happens when a blood clot blocks blood flow to the brain. The study is testing a medical device method called the dual stentriever approach, which uses two tiny mesh tubes to help remove the clot. Researchers hope this method will work better than current treatments and lead to better recovery for patients with blockages in certain large brain arteries.
Adults aged 18 and older who have had a moderate to severe stroke, but were still independent before the stroke, may be eligible to join. To be part of the study, patients need to have a specific type of stroke confirmed by brain scans and be able to give consent or have a family member do so. People with other types of strokes, certain artery problems, or other serious health issues won’t be able to join. If selected, participants will receive the new treatment during their hospital stay, and the study will follow their recovery to see how well it works and if it is safe. This trial has not started recruiting yet but aims to improve stroke care in the future.
