ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called sacral nerve stimulation to see if it is safe and helpful for people with ulcerative colitis, a condition that causes inflammation and sores in the large intestine. The goal is to understand how well this treatment works over a long period and if it has any side effects. Sacral nerve stimulation involves sending mild electrical signals to nerves near the lower spine, which may help reduce inflammation and improve symptoms.
People who might join this study are adults aged 18 to 65 who have had ulcerative colitis for at least three months and whose condition hasn’t improved with standard medicines. Participants should have moderate disease activity based on specific scores doctors use to measure the illness. Those who have severe or untreated ulcerative colitis, are currently on certain strong medications, have had surgery for their condition, or are pregnant won’t be eligible. If you join, you can expect to receive this nerve stimulation treatment and be closely monitored over time to see how your symptoms respond and to check for any side effects. This study is still looking for volunteers who fit these criteria.
