ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to remove certain growths called pedunculated polyps, which are small, mushroom-shaped lumps found in the colon (large intestine). Specifically, it looks at removing polyps that are between 10 and 20 millimeters in size using a technique called cold snare polypectomy. This method uses a small wire loop to cut off the polyp without using heat, which might make the procedure safer. The main goals are to see if this method can completely remove these polyps and to find out how safe it is by checking for any complications after the procedure.
People who might join the trial are adults aged 20 or older who are having a colonoscopy—a test to look inside the colon—and are found to have a suitable polyp that fits the size range. If eligible, their polyp will be removed using the cold snare technique, and doctors will carefully watch how well the removal worked and if there are any side effects or problems afterward. This study is being done in several hospitals in Taiwan and is not yet recruiting participants. If you or a loved one is scheduled for a colonoscopy and has these types of polyps, this trial might be an option to consider.
