ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how to better support people during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, a time that can often bring worries and questions about health and the baby’s progress. Since most do not see a midwife or doctor until around 10 weeks, many turn to apps or the internet for information, which can sometimes be confusing or unreliable. The research aims to find out what kind of help and information pregnant people really need early on, and whether a specially designed mobile app could safely provide clear, personalized support during this important time.
People who are currently pregnant or have had a baby in the last two years and live in the UK may be eligible to take part, along with healthcare professionals involved in pregnancy care and digital health experts. Participants will be invited to complete surveys and interviews about their experiences, concerns, and use of digital tools in early pregnancy. The information gathered will help create a new app that uses smart technology to offer easy-to-understand, trustworthy advice tailored to each person’s needs. The study also involves women and community groups to make sure the app is helpful and inclusive for everyone. If successful, this app could become a valuable tool across the NHS to reduce anxiety and improve early pregnancy support for families.
