ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how walking patterns change at different speeds in people who have had a stroke. After a stroke, many individuals experience changes in how they walk, like taking shorter steps, spending more time with their foot on the ground, and having uneven movements between their affected and unaffected legs. This study aims to better understand these changes by looking closely at how walking speed affects these patterns.
People who are eligible to join are those aged 65 to 74 who have been diagnosed with hemiplegia, which means weakness or paralysis on one side of the body due to a stroke. Participants need to be able to walk, either with or without some help. During the study, they will be asked to walk at different speeds while the researchers observe and measure their walking. This helps identify how changes in speed might impact their balance and movement, which could lead to better ways to support walking rehabilitation after a stroke.
