ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new type of dressing designed to help keep gastrostomy tubes (feeding tubes placed directly into the stomach) secure and prevent them from accidentally coming out. The study aims to see if this new dressing can reduce problems like tube dislodgement and the need for extra doctor or emergency room visits related to the feeding tube. Researchers will compare patients using the new dressing with past patient data to understand how well it works.
People who are having a gastrostomy tube placed or have had one placed within the last five days may be eligible to join, as long as they don’t have any skin conditions that would prevent the dressing from being used. Participants will be followed for up to 50 days while using the new dressing and will complete a survey at the end of this period. Their medical records will also be reviewed for up to a year to track any complications. This study is currently recruiting patients of all genders and ages within the specified range.
