ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new wearable tracking device called Care Companion designed to help family caregivers keep track of loved ones living with dementia who may be at risk of wandering or getting lost. The study has two parts: first, a short one-month trial to see if the device is easy to use, followed by a longer six-month period to check how well it works. The goal is to see if this device can give caregivers peace of mind and support in keeping their family members safe.
Caregivers who support someone with dementia and worry about them wandering might be eligible to join, especially if they have a smartphone and internet access to use the device and related app. The person with dementia should be willing to wear the Care Companion device and able to communicate in English. Participants will be asked to use the device, complete some surveys online, and share their feedback during the study. This trial is not yet recruiting, and it is open to adults aged 65 to 74 of any gender. This study could offer a helpful tool for families managing dementia-related safety concerns.
