ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how effective different video ads are at preventing vaping among young people. It focuses on teens and young adults aged 13 to 20 who either currently use e-cigarettes or might be at risk of starting to vape. The goal is to find out which types of ads catch their attention and make them less interested in vaping.
If you take part, you’ll complete an online survey where you’ll watch five short vaping prevention videos chosen at random. After each video, you’ll share your thoughts on how convincing the message is and answer some questions about how appealing vaping seems to you and whether you feel an urge to vape. About two weeks later, some participants will be asked to take a follow-up survey where they watch six videos (including the five from before plus one new video) and say if they remember seeing each one before. The surveys are short, taking about 15-20 minutes for the first and 10-15 minutes for the follow-up. This study is open to young people living in the U.S. who vape or might consider vaping, and it aims to help create better messages to keep young people from starting or continuing to vape.
