ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether using virtual reality (VR) can help nursing students improve their communication skills, especially when they need to share difficult news or comfort patients who are crying. The study will compare students who use a special VR program designed to practice these situations with students who follow the usual nursing communication lessons. The goal is to see if VR makes a difference in how well students handle these sensitive conversations.

Nursing students who are 18 years or older, taking a communication course for the first time, and willing to join the study can participate. Students will be randomly placed into two groups: one will use the VR program, which includes a guided virtual scenario and a follow-up discussion, while the other group will continue with the regular course. Students who feel sick using VR or have already had training on delivering bad news won’t be able to join. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to find new ways to help nursing students communicate more confidently and compassionately in challenging situations.
