ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at patients who had weight-loss surgery (called bariatric surgery) but stopped seeing their doctors for regular check-ups five years after their operation. After this type of surgery, it's very important to keep seeing a doctor regularly because the surgery can cause vitamin and iron shortages that need to be managed with lifelong supplements and medical care. The study wants to understand the care these patients received and why many of them may have stopped their follow-up visits.
If you had bariatric surgery at Nancy University Hospital between 2013 and 2018 and are part of the OBESEPI group, you might be eligible for this study, as long as you’re not pregnant, under legal guardianship, or unable to participate for other legal reasons. Participants will be asked about their medical care since surgery and may have some health checks to help doctors learn how to improve long-term support for patients after bariatric surgery. The goal is to make sure everyone gets the care they need to stay healthy after their surgery.
