ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how quickly losing water weight (called dehydration) affects sleep quality, thinking skills, and muscle strength in male combat athletes. These athletes often lose weight fast before competitions to meet weight classes. The study aims to understand both the good and bad effects of this practice, helping athletes, coaches, and medical staff find safer ways to manage weight and possibly improve official weigh-in rules.
To take part, participants need to be male combat athletes who have experience with rapid weight loss, be healthy without injuries, and not be using any sleep medications. During the study, athletes will go through their usual weight-cutting process, and researchers will check how it impacts their sleep, brain function, and muscle performance. This research hopes to provide useful information that can keep athletes safer while competing.
