ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well Chinese medicine works in treating chikungunya fever, a virus spread by mosquitoes that causes fever, rash, and painful joints. The study looks at using Chinese medicine alone or together with regular Western medicine to see if it can help relieve symptoms safely. This is important because there is currently no specific antiviral treatment for chikungunya, and recent outbreaks have affected many people in China.
People who might join the study need to have symptoms of chikungunya fever that started within the last three days and must meet certain diagnosis criteria. The study includes adults of any gender, but those with very severe illness or who have recently been in another drug trial won’t be eligible. Participants will receive treatment based on the study group they are assigned to—either Chinese medicine, Western medicine, or a combination—and will be asked to give their consent before joining. This study is currently looking for volunteers who want to help find better ways to treat chikungunya fever.
