ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of anesthesia affect recovery after spine surgery. Specifically, it looks at three anesthesia methods: using only intravenous drugs (through a vein), or combining these intravenous drugs with one of two types of inhaled anesthesia (sevoflurane or desflurane). The researchers want to see how these methods influence how quickly and smoothly patients wake up after surgery, including how soon they can breathe on their own, open their eyes, avoid feeling sick, and leave the recovery room.
Adults scheduled for planned spine surgery that is expected to last more than three hours may be eligible to join. To be included, patients need to have certain monitoring during surgery and receive anesthesia mainly through intravenous drugs. Emergency surgeries or patients getting only inhaled anesthesia are not eligible. If you participate, your recovery will be closely observed to compare how these anesthesia methods work. This study is currently recruiting patients and aims to help doctors choose the best anesthesia approach for a smoother, safer recovery after spine surgery.
