ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new approach to help people with advanced kidney disease who are on regular hemodialysis (a treatment that filters waste from the blood when the kidneys can’t). The study is looking at using special filters called sorption technologies to reduce inflammation and symptoms related to the buildup of toxins in the body, which often cause discomfort and other health issues in these patients.

People who might join this study are adults 18 years or older who have been on standard hemodialysis treatments three times a week, with each session lasting at least four hours. They must have good dialysis treatment results and show signs of inflammation in their blood, measured by certain markers like IL-6 or CRP. People currently taking steroids or immune-suppressing drugs, those who have had a kidney transplant, have cancer, or are pregnant cannot participate. Participants can expect to continue their usual dialysis schedule while receiving this new treatment to see if it helps reduce inflammation and improve their health. The trial is currently recruiting patients who meet these criteria.
