ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help adults with obesity lose weight by using a technique called Socratic questioning. This method involves asking thoughtful questions to help people think differently about their habits and choices. The study will compare patients who receive this type of guided questioning during regular doctor visits with those who get standard care, to see if it helps them lose more weight over three months.
Adults between 18 and 65 years old with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher may be eligible to join. Participants will answer some initial questions about their background and mood, visit their doctor five times over three months for short counseling sessions and measurements of weight and waist size, and complete a final questionnaire at the end. If any mental health concerns are found at the start, they may be referred to a specialist for help. The study is not yet recruiting, and people who are pregnant, have certain mental health conditions, or are currently in other weight loss programs would not be eligible. This trial aims to find out if this question-based approach can be a helpful alternative to support weight loss in everyday healthcare settings.
