ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help people with knee osteoarthritis, a common condition that causes knee pain and makes it hard to move. The study will compare two treatments: one group will do special knee exercises to strengthen their muscles, and the other group will do the same exercises but also receive shockwave therapy. Shockwave therapy uses sound waves to help reduce pain and improve knee function. The goal is to see if adding shockwave treatment can help people feel less pain and move better than exercises alone.
People who may join the study are between 65 and 74 years old, have moderate knee osteoarthritis (confirmed by X-rays), and have had knee pain rated at least 4 out of 10 on a pain scale for the past three months. Participants will do exercises for three weeks, and those in the shockwave group will get one shockwave session each week during this time. The study will look at pain levels, stiffness, how well participants can use their knees, and overall satisfaction with the treatment. This research could help improve how knee osteoarthritis is treated in hospitals in the future.
