ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called PROMOTE, is studying whether a special program can help pregnant people receive better advice and support from their healthcare providers about managing work during pregnancy. The goal is to see if this program, compared to usual care, increases how often providers talk with patients about workplace accommodations—like changes at work to make pregnancy easier—and if it helps prevent problems like losing pay or job opportunities. The study will also look at whether this support improves the health of both the pregnant person and their baby.
The trial will involve healthcare providers who care for pregnant patients, such as doctors, nurses, and medical staff. These providers will be randomly assigned to either use the PROMOTE program or continue with their usual care. About 304 pregnant patients from diverse backgrounds will then be followed to see how their experiences and health outcomes compare depending on which providers they see. If you are pregnant and receiving care from a participating provider, you might be asked to complete surveys and interviews about your work and pregnancy experiences. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help improve support for working pregnant people and their families.
