ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the process of gender transition affects sexual functioning in transgender men—people who were assigned female at birth but identify as male—living in Türkiye. Because experiences of gender and sexuality can be influenced by culture and society, this study aims to better understand these changes during gender affirmation, which may include medical treatments or surgeries. The researchers are using a mix of surveys and interviews to gather detailed information.
If you are 18 years or older, have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria (a condition where a person feels distress because their gender identity differs from their assigned sex at birth) by two doctors, and are currently receiving medical support for your gender transition, you might be eligible to participate. People over 65 or those with certain health conditions affecting mental function or sexual health are not eligible. Participants can expect to share their experiences through questionnaires and conversations, helping researchers learn more about sexual health during gender transition in this cultural setting. The study is currently recruiting volunteers who meet these criteria.
