ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether physiotherapy exercises delivered through digital methods—like video calls on a computer, tablet, or smartphone—can help people recover better after thoracic surgery, which is surgery on the chest area. After this type of surgery, patients often find it harder to breathe deeply, have less muscle strength, and feel more tired, which can make everyday activities more difficult. The study aims to see if guided exercises done at home with digital support can improve lung function, muscle strength in the arms and chest, overall physical ability, and quality of life.
To take part, individuals need to be between 18 and 75 years old, have had a specific kind of chest surgery called open thoracotomy, and have internet access to join online exercise sessions. People who had their entire lung removed, have other serious health problems that prevent exercise, or have difficulties understanding instructions won’t be able to join. Participants will be guided through exercises remotely and monitored to see how these sessions affect their recovery. This study is not yet recruiting, but it offers an accessible way to support recovery from chest surgery using technology.
