ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether participating in arts activities can help improve the mental health and wellbeing of people receiving mental health care in their communities. The study will compare two groups: one group will take part in an art program (called the Active Group), while the other group will wait and not participate right away (called the waitlist control group). The goal is to see if engaging with the arts makes a positive difference in how people feel and cope with their mental health conditions.

People who might be eligible to join are adults (18 years and older) who are currently receiving mental health care in the community or through private practice in Greece. They need to have a mental health diagnosis and be able to communicate and complete questionnaires on their own. Participants should also be able to take part in the art activities without needing a caregiver’s help and must be legally able to give consent. People with current substance abuse problems, serious medical risks like acute psychosis, or those who cannot follow their treatment plans or attend activities due to severe physical or cognitive difficulties will not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to be either involved in the art activities or placed on a waiting list, and you will be asked to answer some questions about your mental health and wellbeing throughout the study. This trial is important because it explores new, creative ways to support mental health beyond traditional treatments.
