ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different types of devices used to help patients breathe during urological surgeries: the I-gel and the ProSeal laryngeal mask airway (LMA). The study aims to compare how much air gets into the stomach with each device, which can affect comfort and safety after surgery. Researchers will also check how well each device seals the airway and if there are any differences in common after-surgery issues like nausea, vomiting, or sore throat.
People who might join this study are adults having urological surgery who are generally healthy or have mild to moderate health conditions (based on a standard health scoring system). Patients with difficult airways, infections, certain airway or stomach problems, a history of head or neck surgery, or those who are pregnant cannot join. Participants will have either the I-gel or ProSeal LMA used during their surgery, and doctors will monitor their breathing, any air in the stomach, and how they feel afterward. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to help doctors choose the safest and most comfortable breathing device for patients during surgery.
