ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two different methods to help control pain after open nephrectomy, which is surgery to remove a kidney. The study compares an ultrasound-guided technique called the subtransverse interligamentary (STIL) block with another method known as the thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB). Both techniques involve injecting medicine near nerves to reduce pain after surgery, and the researchers want to see which one works better for patients.

Adults between 18 and 65 years old who are having open kidney removal surgery and are generally healthy enough for anesthesia may be able to take part. People with allergies to local anesthetics, dependence on opioids, bleeding problems, infections at the injection site, severe health issues, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding will not be eligible. If you join the study, you will receive one of these pain relief methods during your surgery, and the medical team will monitor how well it controls your pain afterwards. This trial is not yet recruiting participants but aims to find safer and more effective ways to manage pain after kidney surgery.
