Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy Late Toxicity Rila Predictive Biomarker Prostate Cancer

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to predict which men with localized prostate cancer might experience long-term side effects from a precise type of radiation treatment called stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Before starting radiation, patients will have a simple blood test called the RILA assay, which looks at how certain blood cells respond to radiation. The goal is to see if this test can help doctors identify who is more likely to have late side effects from treatment, so they can better tailor care and reduce risks.

Men with localized prostate cancer who are planned to receive SBRT may be eligible to join. Participants will give a blood sample before treatment and then be followed for up to five years to monitor any side effects and their overall quality of life through regular questionnaires. This study is important because it aims to improve treatment choices and help protect patients from severe long-term problems after radiation therapy.
