ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new surgical technique called mesopancreatic excision to treat pancreatic cancer, specifically pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. This type of cancer is known to be very aggressive and often comes back after surgery. The new technique involves carefully removing extra tissue around important blood vessels near the pancreas, with the hope that it will help surgeons remove all the cancer more completely, reduce the chances of the cancer returning, and improve patients’ overall survival compared to the standard surgery.
The trial is looking for adults of any gender who have pancreatic cancer that can be surgically removed. If you participate, you will undergo a surgery called pancreaticoduodenectomy (sometimes called the Whipple procedure), where the surgeon will use this new method to remove the cancer. The study will then follow you to see how well the cancer is controlled, how long you remain free of disease, and what kind of recovery you experience after surgery. This information will help doctors understand if this technique is a better option for treating pancreatic cancer.
