ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new device called Cerogrin, which is designed to help people with vascular dementia or mild cognitive problems caused by blood vessel issues in the brain. Cerogrin works by gently stimulating a nerve in the ear, called the vagus nerve, to see if this can improve thinking and memory. Because there are currently few effective medicines for these conditions, this study is exploring a different, non-drug approach to support brain function.
The trial will include 24 adults who have vascular dementia or mild cognitive impairment related to blood vessel problems. Participants will be randomly assigned to use either the real Cerogrin device or a fake (sham) device that does not provide stimulation. They will use the device at home for 30 minutes every day over four weeks. The study will also include visits before and after the treatment period to check thinking skills, brain activity, and overall safety. This early study will help researchers understand if Cerogrin is a safe and promising option for people with these types of memory and thinking difficulties.
