ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to treating people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, which are conditions that cause skin problems and joint pain. The study is testing whether choosing treatments based on a personalized, “precision medicine” method works better than the usual way doctors pick medications called biologics. Biologics are medicines that target specific parts of the immune system to help control these diseases. The trial also looks at heart health by measuring certain markers to see if the treatments affect the risk of heart problems.
The study is open to adults between 18 and 75 years old who have been diagnosed by a specialist with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. Patients with active infections or suspected cancer cannot join. Participants will be randomly placed into one of two groups: one where treatment is chosen using the personalized method, and the other where treatment follows standard guidelines. They will have regular check-ups over about a year and a half, sometimes longer, to track their skin and joint symptoms, quality of life, and heart health through simple tests. This helps researchers understand which treatment approach works best and is safest for people living with these conditions.
