ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether giving a medicine called lidocaine through a vein during surgery can help reduce pain and inflammation, and help the stomach start working normally again after surgery. The surgery involved is a planned, minimally invasive gallbladder removal called a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Researchers want to see if this lidocaine treatment can improve recovery after anesthesia.
The study is looking for adults aged between 65 and 74 years old who are having this type of gallbladder surgery. Both men and women can take part. If you join the trial, you would receive lidocaine through an IV during your operation, and the researchers will monitor your pain levels, inflammation, and how quickly your stomach starts working again after surgery. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, so it’s important to check back later if you or a family member might be interested.
