ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how a special group program called TAG TEAM can help improve the mental health of transgender and gender diverse teenagers. TAG TEAM was created together with young people who are trans or gender diverse, along with researchers and healthcare providers. The program helps teens understand and deal with “minority stress,” which means the extra challenges they might face, like feeling rejected or treated unfairly because of their gender identity. Through group activities and conversations led by a psychologist and a trans peer (someone who is also trans and can share their own experiences), participants learn skills to support their mental health and feel better connected to others like them.
The study is open to transgender and gender diverse young people within a certain age range (though the exact ages seem unclear in the details provided). If eligible, participants will join group sessions where they can share, learn, and practice coping skills in a supportive environment. This trial has not started recruiting yet, but it aims to help young people build pride, reduce feelings of anxiety or depression, and improve their overall wellbeing by connecting with others who understand their experiences.
