ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing whether eating special cookies called GlucoBites, which contain a natural ingredient from the plant Gynura procumbens, can help adults with type 2 diabetes better control their blood sugar and reduce the risk of developing foot problems related to diabetes. The study will look at whether these cookies can lower blood sugar levels, improve how the body responds to insulin (a hormone that controls blood sugar), support healthy blood vessels, and prevent early signs that may lead to diabetic foot ulcers, which are painful sores that can be hard to heal.
Adults with type 2 diabetes who are interested in participating will either eat four GlucoBites cookies every day for 12 weeks or continue their usual diabetes care without the cookies. During the study, participants will visit a community health center for blood tests and foot check-ups to monitor their blood sugar, insulin function, cholesterol, and foot health. This research aims to find out if adding these cookies to a diabetes care routine can help manage the condition and prevent complications.
