ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the Validation Fugl-Meyer in Italian Language (FMI), aims to make sure that the Italian version of the Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale is accurate and culturally appropriate for use with patients who have had a stroke. The Fugl-Meyer Assessment is a tool that helps doctors evaluate how well a patient can move their arms and legs after a stroke. By validating this tool, the researchers hope that it can be used immediately in clinical settings to better assess and treat patients.

If you or a loved one have experienced a first-time stroke and are currently in the hospital, you might be eligible to participate. The trial is looking to include 60 individuals who are within 15 days of their stroke. However, those with certain conditions, such as visual or hearing problems, prior strokes, or significant cognitive decline, will not be able to participate. If chosen, participants can expect to have their movement abilities assessed using the translated scale, which will help improve stroke care in Italy.
