RATIONALE AND BACKGROUND:
Major strides in surgical care for traumatic injuries and burns over recent decades have enabled survival for wounds that would have previously been fatal. Eligibility criteria
- Inclusion Criteria:
- • Children (age 1- 17) who present with hypertrophic scarring following an acute injury or burn, with stable closed scars at least 3 months post wound closure.
- Exclusion Criteria:
- • Outside of age limits described above.
- • Contraindications to general anesthesia.
- • Open wounds in scars.
- • Active infection.
