ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a tool called the Parent Gastroesophageal Reflux Symptom Questionnaire (PGSQ) to help understand how children with cerebral palsy experience gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), which is a condition that causes stomach acid to come up into the throat, leading to discomfort. The researchers want to make sure this questionnaire is easy to read and complete for parents and caregivers of children aged 2 to 16 years who have cerebral palsy and show signs of GORD. To do this, they will conduct interviews with parents and make any necessary changes to the questionnaire based on their feedback.
Parents and caregivers of children with cerebral palsy who are at a moderate to severe level (known as GMFCS level III to V) and have symptoms of GORD may be eligible to participate in this study. Participants will be asked to share their experiences and opinions about the questionnaire, and later, the researchers will check how reliable the updated version is by asking 20 parents to complete it again after some time. This study aims to improve the understanding of how GORD affects children with cerebral palsy and ultimately enhance their quality of life. If you think you might qualify and are interested, you can reach out to the research team for more information.
