ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two different types of surgical mesh—Ventralex patch and Progrip mesh—in patients who have incisional hernias located in the middle of their abdomen. An incisional hernia can occur after surgery when the tissue pushes through the abdominal wall. The trial aims to find out which type of mesh works better for repairing these hernias. If you're between the ages of 18 and 100, have a hernia defect size between 1-4 cm, and have a body mass index (BMI) of less than 35, you may qualify to participate.
Participants in this study can expect to undergo surgery where one of the two types of mesh will be used to repair their hernia. The trial is currently recruiting, meaning they are looking for volunteers to join. It's important to note that those with larger hernias (over 4 cm), pregnant individuals, or those with a BMI over 35 are not eligible for this study. If you're interested and meet the criteria, this could be a great opportunity to contribute to important research while getting the care you need.
