ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new system that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify challenges that may arise during a procedure called endotracheal intubation, which is often needed for patients under general anesthesia. The goal is to build a large, confidential database using 3D images and sound samples from about 16,000 participants to help create an early warning model for difficult airways. This could ultimately improve patient safety and outcomes during surgery.
To participate, individuals must be scheduled for intubation under general anesthesia and be able to follow instructions. However, those with communication difficulties, certain medical conditions, or severe injuries won’t be eligible. Participants can expect that their 3D facial images will be taken, and they'll be asked to answer a questionnaire immediately after intubation to help gather important data. Importantly, this trial does not involve any interventions or changes to the usual care patients receive during their surgery.
