ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how regular exercise can affect heart and blood pressure responses in people living with HIV. It aims to find out if exercise training helps improve how their bodies react during physical activity, as many individuals with HIV may struggle to exercise due to muscle issues. Participants who are not currently exercising will be randomly assigned to either a group that will follow a structured exercise program for 12 weeks or a control group that will remain inactive. There will also be a group of healthy individuals for comparison.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must have been diagnosed with HIV for at least five years, have been on HIV treatment for at least three years, and be in good health without any serious infections. They should not be regularly exercising or have certain health conditions like heart disease or diabetes. During the study, participants will engage in moderate exercise three times a week and will be evaluated before and after the training period. This research is an important step in understanding how exercise can potentially improve health outcomes for people living with HIV.
