ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding a condition called atherosclerosis, which is the buildup of fatty deposits in the arteries that can lead to heart problems. The researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital and Tsuchiura Kyodo General Hospital are working together to create a detailed image database. This database will include different types of heart imaging, such as coronary angiograms (pictures of the blood vessels in the heart), optical coherence tomography (a specialized imaging technique), computed tomography angiograms (3D images of the heart's blood vessels), and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (a type of MRI for the heart). The goal is to better analyze these images to learn more about how atherosclerosis develops and how it can be treated.
To participate in this study, individuals need to have had a computed tomography angiogram (CTA) before undergoing a procedure called cardiac catheterization, followed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) during that procedure. This trial is currently recruiting participants of all ages and genders. If you join the study, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve understanding of heart health and disease in the future.
