ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new treatment for patients with keratoconus, a condition that affects the shape of the cornea, the clear front part of the eye, leading to vision problems. The researchers are looking at a method where fresh lenticules (tiny pieces of corneal tissue) from myopic (nearsighted) donors are implanted into the eyes of patients with keratoconus. The goal is to see if this procedure can make the cornea thicker, improve vision, and help with dryness in the eyes after the surgery.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and able to follow the study's guidelines, ensuring they attend follow-up appointments. Women who are pregnant cannot join the study. Participants can expect to undergo a surgical procedure using a special laser, and they will also receive eye drops made from their own blood to help with recovery. It's important to note that the trial is currently active but not recruiting new participants, so no new patients can enroll at this time.
