ClinConnect Summary
The HelpILO clinical trial is studying Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO), a condition that can make it hard to breathe during intense activities, especially in young people. EILO happens when the throat unexpectedly tightens while breathing in, which can lead to breathing difficulties during exercise. This trial aims to find out more about how to effectively treat this condition in individuals aged 12 and older who experience significant breathing problems during exercise and are looking for treatment options.
To participate in the study, individuals must have a specific level of breathing difficulty during exercise, as determined by a medical evaluation. However, those with breathing issues from other conditions, such as asthma that is well-managed, or those who cannot complete certain exercise tests, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo various tests related to their breathing while exercising and will receive support throughout the study. This trial is currently recruiting, so it's a good opportunity for those affected by EILO to seek help and contribute to important research.
