ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying kidney scarring, also known as renal fibrosis, to see how well a special type of imaging called renal MRI can detect it. The researchers want to understand how this scarring affects kidney function and whether the information from the MRI can help predict if a person's kidney function will get worse over time. They will also look at how the MRI results relate to other markers of kidney health found in blood, urine, and tissue samples.
If you are over 18 years old and scheduled for a kidney biopsy at Akershus University Hospital, you may be invited to join the study. However, people who have difficulty understanding information to give consent, those with claustrophobia, or individuals with certain metal implants that are not safe for MRI cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo the MRI and provide some samples for further testing, all while contributing to important research that could help improve kidney care in the future.
