ClinConnect Summary
The Empowering Families Project is a research study designed to help couples improve their relationships. In this trial, 344 couples will participate and be split into two groups: one group will receive traditional relationship education, while the other group will get the same relationship education along with services focused on financial issues. The goal is to see if adding economic support helps couples have better relationships and improve their financial situations over time.
To join the study, couples should be in a romantic relationship and between the ages of 65 to 74. However, those currently experiencing domestic violence or child abuse cannot participate. Throughout the study, couples will be checked in at the start, then again after 6 weeks, 6 months, and 12 months to see how they are doing. This study is currently looking for participants, and it aims to gather valuable information on how financial support can impact relationship quality.
