ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to help children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn new words more effectively. Researchers want to understand how two specific methods—getting feedback on their answers and spreading out their practice over time—can help these children not only learn new words but also remember them better. The study will involve four children aged 5 to 8 years who meet certain criteria, and it will test these methods in different ways to see which is most effective.
To be eligible for this study, children must have at least a mild hearing loss, show a good level of vocabulary skills in English, and be able to communicate using spoken language. However, children with significant vision problems or severe motor impairments will not be included. Participants can expect to engage in fun word-learning activities while helping researchers understand the best ways to support children with hearing loss in their language development. This study is important as it aims to improve educational strategies for young learners with hearing challenges.
