ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how to better choose biological treatments for patients with spondyloarthritis, a type of arthritis that primarily affects the spine. The researchers want to see if measuring certain immune system signals, called cytokines, after stimulating immune cells can help predict how well patients will respond to these treatments. Currently, there are no clear guidelines or tests to help doctors decide which biologic medication is best for their patients, especially after other treatments have failed.

To be eligible for this study, participants must have been diagnosed with spondyloarthritis and have had active disease despite trying at least two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) without success. They also need to have a specific level of disease activity as measured by a standard index. During the trial, participants will undergo tests to measure their immune responses and will start a new biological treatment. The researchers hope to determine if these tests can help improve treatment decisions and outcomes for patients.
