ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well remote breathalyzers can monitor alcohol use. Researchers want to find out if these devices can reliably detect when someone has been drinking, especially since they cannot collect breath samples for up to 10 hours while a person is sleeping. They will also look at a special blood test that can help confirm if someone has not been drinking or if they have been drinking late at night, which could help avoid negative consequences of alcohol use.
To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 21 years old and meet certain criteria, such as having been convicted of a drinking-related driving offense in the past two years or having had several heavy drinking days in the past month. If you join, you will use a remote breathalyzer and may also undergo blood tests during the study. This research aims to improve the way alcohol use is monitored, which could ultimately help individuals struggling with alcohol use disorder.
