ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how mindfulness training can improve the quality of life for patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), a skin condition that can cause painful bumps and serious discomfort. The goal is to see if learning mindfulness techniques—like meditation and breathing exercises—can help those living with HS feel better both physically and emotionally.
To participate, you need to be a patient with HS registered at the University of Miami Hospital dermatology system and can have active skin lesions. However, if you have certain conditions like untreated PTSD, active substance use issues, or if you are pregnant, there are restrictions that would prevent you from joining the study. If you are interested and meet the criteria, you can expect to take part in mindfulness sessions and share your experiences, which will contribute to understanding how this approach can help improve the lives of people with HS.
