ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how certain medical treatments, like bariatric surgery (a weight loss surgery) and cardiac rehabilitation (a program to improve heart health), affect the heart's structure and function in people with heart failure and cardiovascular diseases. The researchers want to learn about changes in the heart's metabolism and health by using advanced imaging techniques called Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to get detailed pictures of the heart tissue. Understanding these changes is important for improving care and outcomes for patients with heart-related issues.

To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and give your consent to join. If you're in the bariatric surgery group, you should have obesity (a body mass index, or BMI, of 30 or higher) or be a healthy control (with a BMI below 30). If you're in the cardiac rehabilitation group, you should have symptoms of heart disease or be a healthy control with no heart issues. Participants will undergo imaging tests and possibly take part in treatment programs, helping researchers see how these interventions can improve heart health.
