ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well infants with hearing loss can understand speech when they use hearing aids compared to when they do not use them. Researchers want to find out if infants with hearing loss perform better in understanding speech when using their hearing aids, and if their performance is similar to infants with typical hearing. The trial includes infants aged 6 months to 3 years who primarily speak English at home. Eligible participants include those with varying degrees of hearing loss who either wear hearing aids or are part of an intervention program.
If your child qualifies and participates, they will take part in tests that measure how well they can hear and understand speech, both with and without their hearing aids. This is a great opportunity to help researchers learn more about the benefits of amplification for young children with hearing differences. Please note that children born prematurely, those with certain ear issues, or additional disabilities may not be eligible for the study.
