ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different types of iron supplements to see which one helps blood donors recover better after giving blood. The trial is taking place at Uppsala University Hospital and is currently active but not recruiting new participants. It specifically looks at blood donors aged 65 to 74 who have been donating blood regularly for the past two years. To be eligible, participants must meet the Swedish criteria for blood donation.
If you qualify and decide to participate, you will receive either sucrosomial iron or iron sulfate supplements after donating blood. The goal is to find out which supplement is more effective in supporting your recovery. It's important to note that if you are no longer eligible to donate blood according to the established guidelines, you will not be able to participate in this trial.
