ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective mobile health applications (mHealth apps) are in helping people manage their weight if they are overweight or obese. Over a period of 6 months, participants will use the app daily to track their weight and check their fasting blood glucose levels every morning. The goal is to see if using these apps can lead to better health outcomes for those struggling with their weight.
To be eligible for this study, you should be between 18 and 64 years old and have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher, which indicates being overweight. You also need to have a bathroom scale at home and a smartphone to download the app. However, if you are taking certain medications that cause weight gain, such as some antidepressants or steroids, you won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to commit to daily check-ins and weigh-ins, which can help you stay focused on your weight management goals.
