ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a mouthwash containing methylene blue to help reduce pain caused by oral mucositis in cancer patients. Oral mucositis is a painful condition that can occur due to cancer or its treatments, causing discomfort in the mouth and throat. The trial is comparing this new mouthwash to the regular mouthwash that is usually given to patients. The hope is that methylene blue mouthwash will help improve pain relief better than standard options.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have an active cancer diagnosis and be currently admitted to the hospital. They should also be experiencing pain related to oral mucositis and be able to understand and agree to participate in the study. However, children under 18, pregnant or nursing women, and those with certain health conditions that could cause complications with methylene blue are not eligible. If you join this trial, you can expect to receive either the methylene blue mouthwash or a standard mouthwash, and researchers will monitor your pain and overall well-being during the study.
